ROSEMONT, Ill. — “What’s Your Why?” asks the rubber wristband around Branden Dawson’s right wrist — a motivational reminder for the Michigan State senior, courtesy of freshman teammate Lourawls Nairn.

The answer is simple, Dawson said at Big Ten basketball media day today. He’s doing this for his 4-year-old son, My’Shawn, and Dawson’s mother, Cassandra. That’s why the 6-foot-6 forward said he never seriously contemplated departing for the NBA after his junior season, even though he’d certainly be getting paid by someone to play basketball right now. - Read more at Freep.com
