Michigan State basketball ranked No. 18 in USA Today coaches poll

Michigan State was ranked No. 18 in the USA Today men’s basketball coaches poll released on Thursday afternoon.

The Spartans opened last season No. 2 in the polls before a win over then-top ranked Kentucky led Michigan State to a three-week stint ranked No. 1, the longest streak of its kind in school history.

The Spartans suffered through several injuries last season before winning the Big Ten men’s basketball tournament and advancing to the NCAA tournament Elite Eight, where they were eliminated at Madison Square Garden by eventual national champion Connecticut. - Read more at MLive.com
