Michigan needs to start moving more like a Jet Ski — not a Cruise Ship
Let me use a “marine metaphor” to make my thought. I am a boater. So here goes. It seems like, the University of Michigan moves so friggin’ SLOW all the time — like in terms of the necessary termination of Athletic Director Dave Brandon. They remind me of having the versatile start up speed of a “cruise ship” unfortunately — when they should be showing us the rapid burst and maneuverability of a Jet Ski. From the Shane Morris “Concussion-Gate,” to the fireworks idea, to skywriting in enemy territory, to upping student ticket prices 50 percent, to that annoying Stadium Blvd video board, blah, blah, blah.. I say there is more than enough credence to roll out a “fresh slate” with a new AD and get rid of Brandon. Yep, I don’t care if you have to eat the Brandon guaranteed $3 million buyout. Just use the proceeds from the $5 bottled water you sell every football Saturday, and let’s get it done. Then have the new AD decide the fate of Head Football Coach Brady Hoke after thoroughly evaluating his 12 game regular season slate following this his fourth year at the helm. So to President Mark Schlissel (ultimate decision maker) and the 8 Board of Regents (ultimate “input providers”), let’s get this done within the next couple of weeks and begin the long rehab. I am so friggin’ tired of this tarnished published image of University of Michigan football program, I wanna puke. There is a total “lack of community,” nobody is on the same page, and I feel Michigan is literally taking chapter & verse out of the Michigan State University “keystone cops” routine they fulfilled in the 70s, 80s and 90s. “This is Michigan — for God’s sakes.” Get it right !! Start FIXING it — NOW !!
