Grading the Spartans: Solid on offense and defense, but special teams merely average
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -Michigan State set out to play four solid quarters of football at Indiana on Saturday, and the results were impressive.
The Spartans (6-1, 3-0 Big Ten) scored a 56-17 victory at Indiana (3-4, 0-3) with an effort that was at times overwhelming.
The Hoosiers were held to just 11 yards passing. Michigan State scored 21 points in the fourth quarter without throwing a single pass.
The Spartans had more than 300 yards rushing (330) and passing (332) in the same game for the first time since 2005.
