Stephen A. Smith: Michigan State can ‘make amends for wetting the bed against Oregon’

EAST LANSING — ESPN’s “First Take” show certainly had some interesting takes where Michigan State was concerned on Friday, as it was broadcasted from the student union building on campus.

Host Cari Champion and co-hosts Steven A. Smith and Skip Bayless visited with Spartans coaches Tom Izzo and Mark Dantonio on set, concluding their show by sharing the predictions for Saturday night’s 8 p.m. clash at Spartan Stadium between No. 8-ranked Michigan State (7-1, 4-0) and No. 13-ranked Ohio State (7-1, 4-0).

“I’m putting a personal challenge on national television out to Michigan Sate’s defense,” Smith said. “Urban Meyer can coach his butt off, Ohio State will be ready, respect them, but, Michigan State has to show up.
