Izzo May Change Approach With Early Foul Trouble

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State might have won Saturday at Nebraska had it made more free throws. It might have had an even better chance to win had it kept the Cornhuskers off the free throw line, with 29 of Nebraska’s 79 points coming at the charity stripe.

Perhaps what hurt the most was the fact that Gavin Schilling and Matt Costello each had two fouls with more than nine minutes remaining in the first half. Denzel Valentine picked up his second foul with 5:20 remaining in the half and Branden Dawson received a second with just over two minutes left.
