Hey Joe: Here’s a secret — the truth about MSU’s offense

Cover a college beat long enough and you’ll realize that just about everything coaches think, say and do is first processed through the Recruiting Filter. They are constantly worried about things that might hurt them in recruiting, constantly thinking of things that might help. So all these college facilities, MSU’s included, have shrines showing off their NFL and NBA alums, even though a fraction of a fraction of college football and basketball players actually gain employment in those organizations. And coaches are sometimes skittish about discussing certain things because it might be used against them by other coaches, things that seem completely innocuous to the non-coach.
