Huge Purdue centers making Spartans conjure ‘Rocky’

EAST LANSING – There’s no time for Matt Costello and Gavin Schilling to find a Russian barn and pull a plow through the snow, but the Michigan State centers will need Rocky-like grit Wednesday against Purdue.

“Wait until you see this kid I recruited, (Isaac) Haas, you’re going to go, ‘What the hell is that?'” MSU basketball coach Tom Izzo said of Purdue’s 7-foot-2, 297-pound freshman center. “I mean, he looks like the guy that fought Rocky (in ‘Rocky IV’).
