Hey Joe: Some Big Ten tourney scenarios for MSU
Big Ten tournament seeding is very simple for Michigan State if it wins Saturday at Indiana (noon, ESPN): The Spartans will be the No. 3 seed, playing in the last of Friday’s four games (about 9 p.m.), against the winner of Thursday’s game between the No. 6 seed and Wednesday’s 11-14 game winner. The No. 6 seed would be Iowa, Ohio State or Purdue, one of the three teams currently tied with MSU in third place, at 11-6. If all of the third-place teams win, Ohio State will drop to the No. 6 seed, by virtue of the worst record among the group of four.
Of the four, Iowa has the best chance to win this weekend, hosting Northwestern on Saturday. It’s Senior Day for the Hawkeyes, they’re playing well lately and they have some payback to score. - Read more at Freep.com
