Neil’s Notebook: Spartans Ready to Face the Badgers in B1G Series
EAST LANSING - Last week, Michigan State’s challenge was trying to find a way to win at least one game at Minnesota, against one of the best teams in the Big Ten and then tied for first place.
Mission accomplished.
The Spartans rebounded from a frustrating 5-3 loss, after taking a 3-0 lead in the first period of the first game of the series on Thursday, and upended the Gophers 4-2 in the series finale Friday to earn a split.
This weekend, MSU’s challenge is trying to earn six crucial points in the race for first and second place against the last-place team, Wisconsin, which has one of the worst records in college hockey. - Read more at MSUSpartans.com
