Indiana opened the second half with back-to-back buckets, taking a 38-34 lead and bringing a buzz to Assembly Hall. MSU, playing short-handed, looked like it might get blitzed by a team that can heat up offensively in a hurry. Instead, in less than 30 seconds, Marvin Clark hit a 3-pointer and Alvin Ellis scored on a fast-break layup to put MSU ahead. A Clark layup and Travis Trice jumper then put the Spartans up 43-38. MSU wouldn’t pull away until later, but beyond a few made 3-pointers by the Hoosiers, the Spartans always seemed to have the upper hand thereafter. - Read more at LSJ.com
