Bloomington, Ind. — Branden Dawson said he tried to convince Tom Izzo to let him play on Saturday, but the doctors weren’t about to cave in.

The senior could only watch from the bench as Michigan State defeated Indiana, 74-72, on Saturday to lock up the No. 3 seed in the Big Ten tournament.
