Hoyer, Texans Strike 2-yr, $10.5 Million Deal

Brian Hoyer and the Houston Texans front office met late last night to work out terms of a contract. Today, the Texans have announced that they will sign Brian Hoyer to a two-year deal worth $10.5 million with $4.75 million guaranteed, according to Jason La Canfora.

This announcement comes nearly an hour after the Texans traded quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to the New York Jets for a late-round conditional draft pick. Hoyer is highly regarded by Texans head coach Bill O’Brian and is expected to compete with newly re-signed quarterback, Ryan Mallett, for the starting job.
