Izzo comments on NCAA cheating after analyst’s rant
EAST LANSING – Cheating in college basketball is usually more of an offseason talking point, but it occupied a healthy chunk of Tom Izzo’s news conference today to preview the Big Ten tournament.
That’s because ESPN analyst and former coach Fran Fraschilla said this week on SiriusXM radio when discussing the need for the NCAA to nail cheating coaches: “The reason Tom Izzo doesn’t have a great team right now is because he has not, quite frankly he has lost some guys at times to schools that he wasn’t willing to break rules for. And coaches who don’t cheat will get fired if they don’t win, and that’s part of the problem I have with the NCAA.” - Read more at Freep.com
