Georgia coach: 2nd-leading scorer Gaines still ailing
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The left foot of Kenny Gaines, sprained earlier this month and still an issue for the Georgia junior guard, may need a healing surge for the Bulldogs to get past Michigan State in the NCAA tournament opener for both teams Friday.
“We anticipate that he’ll play,” Georgia coach Mark Fox said of Gaines, who is second on the team with 11.6 points per game. “We’ll keep our fingers crossed he’ll continue to get better every day.
