NCAA scouting report: Can MSU hold off talented Georgia?

The main news from Thursday was the fact that Georgia’s second-leading scorer, shooting guard Kenny Gaines, is still hampered by a left foot sprain. That likely means he comes off the bench while Mark Fox starts with interchangeable point guards Charles Mann and J.J. Frazier, along with defensive specialist Kenny Paul Geno. Mann is a 6-foot-5 driver who has been to the foul line 211 times this year. So although there’s a big size difference, Lourawls (Tum Tum) Nairn may be the best option on him. Frazier is the scariest deep threat — he shoots 40.3% from three and can rain them in bunches. Expect the Spartans to close out hard on him, just as the Bulldogs will try to do against Denzel Valentine and Travis Trice. - Read more at Freep.com
