Super Bowl 50: Celebration Plans Unveiled
This 2015 NFL season will conclude with a toast to 50-years of Super Bowls. The league office today announced their plans to kick off the 2015 season which includes a season-long tribute to America’s biggest sporting event.
As many of you know, this year’s Super Bowl will be played on February 7th, 2016 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, which is home to the San Francisco 49ers. The NFL has announced that this will be the first year that roman numerals will not be used in the Super Bowl title, instead they will use the number ’50’. However next year they will revert back to the regularly used roman numerals for Super Bowl 51 (LI).
Also, according to NFL.com’s Mark Sessler, the league unveiled a campaign called ‘On the Fifty’, where in every stadium throughout the 2015 NFL season, the 50-yard line will be painted gold.
