Super Bowl Is On Fifty: NFL Announces Full Season-Long Celebration Plans

On Tuesday at the NFL Annual Meeting in Arizona, the league announced its full plans launching a year-long celebration of the Super Bowl. Yesterday, we reported to you the plans for the ‘On Fifty’ campaign. Today we bring you the full list of what’s to come this 2015 NFL season.

All of the NFL logo’s, from the shield logo to team logos (including sideline apparel) will feature accents of gold for all NFL events, including the NFL Draft, Kickoff as well as the Playoffs will be golden this year. The league even commissioned Tiffany & Co to handcraft the 50 where both numbers will be cast in bronze, plated with 18kt gold that weighs nearly 33 lbs. This will be featured alongside the Vince Lombardi Trophy and presented to the Super Bowl champions at the MVP and head coaches press conference Monday morning after Super Bowl 50.

The past 49 Super Bowls will be linked to this year’s celebration honoring the teams, players, coaches, fans and communities that have been a part of each and every one of the Super Bowl victories. Many of the teams will host Super Bowl Homecomings, where they’ll invite their Super Bowl teams to be honored in-stadium on gameday and throughout the weekend. Teams will commemorate Homecomings with Ring of Honor Hall of Fame ceremonies, where the teams will recognize Super Bowl players as honorary captains and feature special halftime celebrations.

This 2015 NFL season will feature several Super Bowl rematches, 19 during the regular season and including the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game in August will feature the Minnesota Vikings and the Pittsburgh Steelers in a rematch of Super Bowl IX. Forty-three former Super Bowl MVP’s will be recognized throughout the season, where on Super Bowl Sunday all 50 Super Bowl MVP’s will be recognized on the field at the game.

A nice touch linking the NFL and high schools around the country will feature the Super Bowl High School Honor Roll, where teams will recognize the high schools and communities that have contributed to Super Bowl history. High schools will receive a commemorative golden football that Wilson has produced for every player and/or head coach who has appeared in a Super Bowl. Players and coaches will have the opportunity to deliver the golden footballs to their high schools. This will become an annual tradition for the NFL following every Super Bowl. Every high school that produces a player or head coach in the game will receive a golden football.

The NFL has done an outstanding job of commemorating this season to celebrate the rich history of America’s favorite game, this 2015 season, will be one that many will not forget.
