MSU notes: Defense (once again) key vs. Oklahoma
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Virginia would say it’s awfully familiar — a “pack-line defense” of sorts — and it can look like a zone or a green amoeba or, in the words of Michigan State center Matt Costello, “a molded thing” that shapes itself around opposing offenses.
Whatever it looks like, the MSU defense is effective. And it’s the best it has been all season. And it’s the key again as the No. 7 seed Spartans (25-11) take on No. 3 seed Oklahoma (24-10) Friday night in the East Regional semifinals at the Carrier Dome. - Read more at Freep.com
