Remembering MSU’s 1979 NCAA Championship with Terry Donnelly and Jud Heathcote

On Thursday afternoon, Jack and Rico Beard looked back on the 36th anniversary Michigan State’s 1979 NCAA National Championship.

First, they talked with Terry Donnelly, four-year starting guard for Michigan State from 1976-80 and star of the Spartans’ 75-64 win over Indiana State on March 26, 1979.

Then, they spoke with the 19-year head coach of the Spartans (1976-1995), mentor to Tom Izzo and coach of those 1979 NCAA Champions, Jud Heathcote.
