SYRACUSE, N.Y. – He’ll be one win, two days and about 246 miles from that moment Friday — Denzel Valentine probably will never forget stepping onto the Madison Square Garden floor and knowing a Final Four was in his grasp.

After the Spartans fell in an upset to eventual national champ Connecticut in last season’s East Regional final, Valentine expressed the reality of the situation as well as anyone, saying: “This was our best chance.
