B1G meetings: Graduate transfers OK, but for how long?
ROSEMONT, Ill. – College athletics seems at times like an endless game of loophole exploiting followed by loophole closing, and that’s how the graduate transfer rule — athletes who earn degrees can transfer elsewhere and be eligible immediately — someday might be remembered.
That is, if it’s repealed, as is increasingly being discussed. Some will point to Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson’s transfer to Florida State and wonder which graduate program at FSU lured him.
