MSU grants release to reserve linebacker Jalyn Powell

EAST LANSING — Linebacker Jalyn Powell has requested and been granted a release from Michigan State, an athletic department spokesman confirmed.

Powell, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound converted safety from Warren, Ohio, played primarily on special teams as a redshirt freshman in 2014. He switched from safety to star linebacker before MSU’s Cotton Bowl win over Baylor and was listed No. 2 behind Darien Harris in the spring. - Read more at Freep.com
