Michigan State defensive end Shilique Calhoun one of 20 quarterfinalists for Lott Impact Trophy

EAST LANSING — Michigan State defensive end Shilique Calhoun was named one of 20 quarterfinalists for the Lott Impact Trophy this week, one of just two Big Ten players to make the cut.

Nebraska defensive end Randy Gregory is the other Big Ten player to remain in contention for the award, which recognizes the nation’s best defensive player and takes into account character as well as performance.

Clahoun and the Spartans (6-1, 3-0 Big Ten) play host to Michigan (3-4, 1-2) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Spartan Stadium. - Read more at MLive.com
