Mark Dantonio suggests Big Ten champ will find way into College Football Playoff

EAST LANSING — Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio remains confident the Big Ten champion will find its way into the College Football Playoff by the time the dust settles on the selection process in December.

“My thought is that the cream is going to rise to the top, and the eventual champion out of this conference will have a great opportunity,” Dantonio said on Tuesday’s Big Ten coaches teleconference. “It’s a great conference, it’s extremely well coached, there’s great players in this conference, quick reactors, there’s big plays on the offensive side of the ball.

“On any given day, there’s so much parity in college football, you can compete across the board in this country.”

Michigan State has proven that over the past three bowl seasons, knocking off Georgia (SEC), TCU (Big 12) and most recently Stanford (Pac-12), in last year’s Rose Bowl. - Read more at MLive.com
