NFL draft analyst Todd McShay: Michigan State’s Connor Cook ‘needs one more year’

EAST LANSING — NFL draft analyst Todd McShay attended Saturday’s Michigan State game against Michigan and shared his analysis of quarterback Connor Cook during the ABC telecast.

McShay’s conclusion?

“I would say this to Connor Cook: ‘You need another year,'” McShay said in the final minutes of the Spartans’ 35-11 victory over Michigan at Spartan Stadium. “He’s come a long way from a year ago, (but) there’s a reason why the statistics back up underclassmen struggling when they leave early to go to the NFL.

“He can be a good quarterback at the next level, but I think he needs one more year. Come back to Michigan State, there’s a good supporting cast, this is the right place for him to be next season.” - Read more at MLive.com
