EAST LANSING — Michigan State’s basketball team has worked through the summer and into the fall, but it just doesn’t seem like the preseason starts until Tom Izzo holds court at the Spartans’ annual media day at Breslin Center.

There were plenty of takeaways on Tuesday from Izzo, who’s starting his 20th season as Michigan State’s head basketball coach.

Izzo and the Spartans had the type of season last year that many programs would celebrate, reaching and holding the No. 1 spot in the rankings for a school-record three consecutive weeks and overcoming a spate of injuries to win the Big Ten basketball tournament en route to an Elite Eight finish. - Read more at MLive.com
