The Spartans — ranked No. 6 in the USA Today coaches poll and No. 7 in the AP Top 25 poll — had a bye last weekend and play host to Ohio State at 8 p.m. on Saturday at Spartan Stadium.

Mississippi state remained the No. 1 team in the Super 16 poll, and the Bulldogs were followed by Florida State, Auburn, Alabama and Oregon, to round out the top five.

The Big Ten continues to have three teams featured in the poll with the Buckeyes at No. 13 and Nebraska coming in at No. 14.
