Michigan State QB Connor Cook could benefit from familiarity of Ohio State defensive scheme

EAST LANSING — Ohio State coach Urban Meyer vowed in the preseason that the Buckeyes had “completely blown up” last year’s defensive scheme and “started from scratch” to find a new plan.

Once completed, it looks similar to Michigan State’s press quarters scheme, and as Meyer intended, it has made the Buckeyes stingier.

Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook said Ohio State’s defensive similarity to MSU does provide him a slight advantage entering into Saturday’s 8 p.m. game against the Buckeyes (TV: ABC). - Read more at MLive.com
