College Football Playoff committee chair Jeff Long explains Kansas State jumping Michigan State
EAST LANSING — Kansas State moving past Michigan State in the College Football Playoff rankings released on Tuesday night was more about what the Wildcats did last Saturday than any sort of reflection on the Spartans, according to CFP chairman Jeff Long.
Long was asked on a Tuesday night teleconference with select national media about Kansas State moving from No. 9 to No. 7 in the rankings on the heels of its 48-14 victory over Oklahoma State, while Michigan State stayed at No. 8 after an idle weekend.
“I think Kansas State added to their body of work with the convincing and controlling game win over Oklahoma State,” Long said. “So the fact that Michigan State didn’t play, it was less about Michigan State and more about Kansas State adding to their body of work that resulted in them moving to number seven.” - Read more at MLive.com
