Michigan State outside linebacker Mylan Hicks returns to practice, coaches ‘hopeful’ he’ll play

EAST LANSING — Michigan State outside linebacker Mylan Hicks went through Tuesday’s practice with the Spartans, and linebackers coach Mike Tressel said he’s hopeful Hicks can play against Ohio State on Saturday night.

Hicks, a 5-foot-11, 197-pound fifth-year senior from Detroit’s Renaissance High School, suffered a broken bone in his arm in the Spartans’ 27-22 win over Nebraska on Oct. 4 and has been sidelined ever since.
