Lansing State Journal columnist Graham Couch takes an early spin through MSU’s men’s basketball season, predicting each game, from this Friday through March Madness.
• Friday in Annapolis, Md.: MSU opens by paying a visit to Navy for the Veterans Classic. Ex-Penn State coach Ed DeChellis is still looking for his David Robinson. DeChellis is 20-70 since taking over the Midshipmen. W, 1-0
• Tuesday in Indianapolis: Tom Izzo becomes nauseous as he watches Tyus Jones and Jahlil Okafor play up close for the 487th time, this time for Duke. Ex-walk-on Colby Wollenman’s block of Okafor becomes a SportsCenter classic. W, 2-0
• Nov. 21 in East Lansing: History and karma punish Loyola-Chicago for not making the trip two years ago for the 50-year anniversary of its 1963 team’s visit to Jenison Field House. The Ramblers’ first bucket comes after 19 minutes and 63 seconds. W, 3-0
• Nov. 24 In East Lansing: Almost 19 years to the date after Steve Nash led Santa Clara past the Spartans in Maui in Izzo’s first season, Izzo takes revenge — then removes Nash’s photo from his basement dartboard. W, 4-0 - Read more at LSJ.com
