Michigan State ranked 12th by College Football Playoff selection committee, Ohio State up to No. 8
EAST LANSING — Michigan State fell from No. 8 to No. 12 in the College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday night on ESPN.
The Spartans (7-2, 4-1 Big Ten) lost to Ohio State (8-1, 5-0) by a 49-37 count on Saturday night at Spartan Stadium in what appeared to be an elimination game of sorts.
The Buckeyes, who now represent the Big Ten’s best hope for a spot in one of the two College Football Playoff semifinal playoff games — the Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl — jumped from No. 14 to No. 8. - Read more at MLive.com
