Outgoing Michigan State football seniors still in need of ‘statement game’

EAST LANSING — Michigan State’s outgoing seniors have yet to play their “statement game,” and 2014 has yet to be cast as a successful or disappointing season.

As of now, the Spartans’ “best” win came at home against Nebraska, 27-22, in a game everyone in green and white would agree Michigan State didn’t finish effectively (they led 27-3).

Or was the 37-15 win on the road before a capacity Maryland crowd the best win?

“That (statement) game has yet to come,” Spartans’ senior tailback Nick Hill said Tuesday night. “Obviously we wanted to get that Oregon game, and then that Ohio State game. We didn’t, but we grew from those games. - Read more at MLive.com
