Shilique Calhoun not looking past Rutgers; undecided on whether he’ll return for senior year at Michigan State
EAST LANSING — Big Ten 2013 Defensive Lineman of the Year Shilique Calhoun says he isn’t looking past Rutgers, even though Saturday might represent his final game in Michigan State’s Spartan Stadium.
“Not at all, I don’t want to take anything away from the seniors, it’s not about me, it’s not about if I’m coming, leaving or staying. It’s about making a statement and sending the seniors out with another victory,” said Calhoun, a fourth-year junior who some have projected as a first-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
Calhoun’s 6.5 sacks lead the team, and his 11 tackles-for-loss tie linebacker Ed Davis for most on the Spartans’ defense.
“I haven’t made any decisions,” said Calhoun, asked if he would be back with the Spartans next season. “My primary focus is this season, and the season isn’t over yet. I’m just trying to do great things to help my team win.” - Read more at MLive.com
