Ask Griff: Mark Dantonio looks to keep Michigan State fresh; DBs soon to be in demand

EAST LANSING — Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio has said before he likes to keep things fresh, whether that means he’s part of an unpredictable stunt, or maybe he decides to move players around in practice.

Letting redshirt running back Gerald Holmes get some snaps at linebacker and true freshman T.J. Harrell get some time in the offensive backfield during practice is an example of Dantonio keeping things fresh while also looking at different possibilities.

Who knows what other position changes might be ahead, but the message is clear: Dantonio isn’t going to let his football team get bored in the final weeks of the regular season and during bowl practices.
