1. Inspired Spartans?

It’s senior day and perhaps the last home game for a couple of other MSU players. The Spartans treated Maryland like a business trip. Nothing wrong with that. They won decidedly seven days after a deflating defeat.

If there is going to be another regular-season Saturday filled with energy, MSU will have to manufacture it on its own. Rutgers is not an exciting foe. There is no longer a Big Ten title at stake. The situation is similar to a week ago.

The difference — this is at home, for the last time this year, a chance to have a terrific final memory. MSU can win with another business-like approach. But the Spartans can dominate if there’s more enthusiasm, personality and offensive execution behind their effort. - Read more at LSJ.com
