Grading the Spartans: Most complete effort to date nets As and Bs all around

EAST LANSING — Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said that other than two fumbles, the Spartans’ 45-3 Senior Day win might have represented the team’s most complete effort of the season.

It’s not likely Michigan State will be content with that being the calling card of the Class of 2014, however. “Dominated Rutgers at home” doesn’t exactly get too many hearts pounding.

The Spartans’ offense made it look almost too easy at times, and the speed that kicker Michael Geiger showed on his fake almost makes one wonder why MSU didn’t run the play against Ohio State when the regular season was on the line.

Regardless, it was a happy day for Dantonio and his troops, who have just one regular season test remaining at Penn State next Saturday.
