Michigan State’s lopsided victory could boost recruiting on East Coast, New Jersey

EAST LANSING — Michigan State’s 45-3 win over Rutgers on Saturday represented a triple-whammy of success for Spartans’ defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi.

In addition to seeing his defense get more dialed in by keeping the Scarlet Knights out of the end zone, Narduzzi knows he’ll get a boost in the East Coast states he recruits. And the two uncommitted prospects on official visits to MSU had to be impressed.

The Spartans hosted Chicago defensive end Raequan Williams and Texas athlete Darrell Stewart on official visits in addition to Class of 2015 signee and early enrollee Tyriq Thompson.

Narduzzi couldn’t talk about the official visitors, but he did say the win will help him recruit more players like current Spartans’ New Jersey products Shilique Calhoun and Gerald Owens. - Read more at MLive.com
