EAST LANSING — Michigan State displayed its version of “game control” to the College Football Playoff selection committee, which has been talking up the new term as it relates to its weekly rankings.
The Spartans (9-2, 6-1 Big Ten), striving for a spot in one of the “New Year’s Six” bowls, dominated throughout their 45-3 win over Rutgers (6-5, 2-5) before an announced crowd of 70,902 Saturday at Spartan Stadium.
Michigan State, No. 10 in the AP Top 25 and Grantland Rice Super 16 polls and No. 11 in the CFP rankings, outgained the Scarlet Knights 520 yards to 234 yards. - Read more at MLive.com
