Playing new Big Ten teams late in schedule hurt Michigan State in national rankings
EAST LANSING — Michigan State has talked about all the advantages of the Big Ten adding Rutgers and Maryland — access to new recruits, more exposure to alumni — but athletic director Mark Hollis might want to write a letter to the league office requesting the Spartans play the new members earlier in the season.
