Michigan State has been Darrell Stewart’s choice for several weeks now, but Spartans football coach Mark Dantonio wanted him to be sure about it.

Typical of Dantonio’s approach, he told Stewart to hold off on verbally committing until he was able to take an official visit to MSU. That happened during the weekend, Stewart’s feelings only strengthened, and the Houston receiver is MSU’s 14th commitment and third Texan in the class of 2015.

“MSU has been my school for a long time,” said Stewart, formerly a Boise State commitment who had scholarship offers from LSU, Louisville and TCU, among others. “Coach D wanted me to see the place first, make sure I’m comfortable and make sure that’s where I want to be.
