R.J. Shelton first Michigan State player to earn 2014 weekly honor from Big Ten

EAST LANSING — Michigan State sophomore R.J. Shelton became the first player on the Spartans football team to earn a Big Ten player of the week award this season.

Shelton, who returned the opening kick 90 yards for a touchdown in Michigan State’s 34-10 win at Penn State, was named the “Co-Special Teams Player of the Week,” splitting the honor with Nebraska’s De’Mornay Pierson, who had a punt return for a touchdown. - Read more at MLive.com
