Gavin Schilling looked different Wednesday night and it had nothing to do with the wrap and sleeve covering his entire left arm and shoulder. Schilling simply looks more sure of himself these days. More physical. More explosive. Tougher.

The sophomore big man posted the second double-double of his career during Michigan State’s 66-60 win over Penn State Wednesday and showed himself to be a highly-coachable player as well. He received an earful from coach Tom Izzo after missing a one-handed putback in the second half, then went up with two hands for a slam shortly after.
