MSU 60, Illinois 53: Spartans endure by making free throws

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Big athletes slammed into each other and onto the hardwood floor, and every once in a while they snapped and shared a few words in a Big Ten grinder full of snarl.

It was also full of fouls – the officiating crew of Lamont Simpson, Larry Scirotto and Brian Dorsey took center stage and let very little contact go unpunished in an intense rematch between MSU and Illinois at State Farm Center.
