Analysis: What first College Football Playoff rankings mean for Michigan State

EAST LANSING — Upon further review, Mark Dantonio has the right idea when it comes to the College Football Playoff rankings.

Dantonio essentially said he believes if his team wins out, things will be fine. And he wasn’t going to pay much attention to the first rankings, which came out on Tuesday night.

The Spartans are No. 8, according to the College Football Playoff selection committee, which will release its weekly rankings on Tuesday nights leading up to judgement day, Dec. 7.

That’s when a “Final Four” of sorts will be set for the first-ever four-team playoff at the FBS level, with games beginning in January. - Read more at MLive.com
