EAST LANSING – Full-blown Western Michigan prep started in earnest Sunday for Michigan State, and its defensive coaches are looking at the first three opponents — WMU, Oregon and Air Force — as high-tempo offenses that will require the Spartans to rotate players often.
They’re looking at the first two as teams with passing games that may attack the No. 5 Spartans with a variety of receiver “rubs” — which, when ruled illegal, are deemed “picks.”
“Possibly, yeah,” MSU co-defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett said when asked if he expects to see a lot of that by the Broncos and Ducks. – Read more at Freep.com
