Spartans in NFL: Brian Hoyer leads Cleveland to dramatic last-second win at Atlanta

Brian Hoyer overcame three interceptions and led Cleveland on a game-winning drive in the final minute in Atlanta, setting up a 37-yard field goal as time ran out in a 26-24 victory.

The Falcons had gone up 24-23 with 44 seconds left, but the former Michigan State QB rallied the Browns, finishing with four consecutive completions on a day that saw him finish 23-of-40 passing for 322 yards.

“If you’re gonna be a big-time quarterback in this league, you got to be able to, no matter what has happened before, compartmentalize and move on to the next play,” Cleveland coach Mike Pettine said. “That speaks volumes of (Hoyer’s) mental toughness.” – Read more at MLive.com
