The 2015 Michigan State football team is scheduled to report for preseason camp Aug. 7, exactly four weeks before the Sept. 4 season opener at Western Michigan. This is the fifth in a series of breakdowns of each position group before camp begins for an expected preseason top-10 team.
Today: offensive line
Last season: Call it MSU’s best offensive line since the late 1980s and the peak of the George Perles era. That’s how good the Spartans were up front in a record-breaking offensive season. Two stars emerged in left tackle Jack Conklin and center Jack Allen, and offensive line coach Mark Staten for the second straight year expanded his rotation to promote depth and give defenses different looks. MSU ran for 3,057 yards and gave up just 11 sacks. There was not a single opposing defense that got the better of MSU’s offensive line last season — take away a holding call on Allen against Ohio State and that game may have turned out differently. – Read more at Freep.com
