MSU’s Calhoun, Cook finish 2nd in preseason POY voting

Like their Michigan State team, Shilique Calhoun and Connor Cook enter the 2015 season with plenty of respect and acclaim — just not as much as the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Two Buckeyes, in particular — junior defensive end Joey Bosa and junior running back Ezekiel Elliott — beat out Calhoun and Cook today as the choice of Big Ten writers to win defensive and offensive player of the year, respectively, in a cleveland.com poll. That would be a repeat for Bosa, who won the postseason award as a sophomore for Ohio State’s 2014 national championship team. – Read more at Freep.com
